Stylist Magazine Competition
Why did you start making?
Since a very young age I have always generated to all things creative and colourful. Growing up in the sunny islands of the Turks and Caicos and traveling often I found my love of design and pattern has followed me through my travels. Living in 5 different countries and bringing my camera along my journeys, I took to silk scarves to showcase my photography with a plan to venture into my true love- swimwear. I will be starting small with my scarves sold at local boutiques and hotels in the Turks and Caicos but my plan is to expand and create an e-commerce site, so people from all corners of my travels will be able to purchase a piece of sea sage.
Why is your business unique?
Created as a take away from reality and a fashionable accessory that has its roots firmly in the Turks and Caicos; sea sage scarves are the perfect way to wear a bit of paradise. sea sage has always been an extension of myself that I have been eager to share. Growing up in the Long Bay area of Providenciales, on Sea Sage Hill Road, I had always found myself at beach with a camera in hand. Inspired by my travels and love of pattern, I had decided to create sea sage to present my unique photography in a distinctive and memorable way.
What keeps you inspired?
My travels, camera, long walks, and my "pinning" habit. I love 1960's music and art deco patterns, symmetry is key for me and I cant begin to describe my love for patterned tiles.
What's your vision for the future?
To create a luxury resortwear brand, that is unique and individual, creating something that is as beautiful as my home country of the Turks and Caicos.
